FAQ

Starting your savings preview
Is the Savings Preview free?

Yes. The Free Savings Preview checks your current provider, monthly price, speed, area and included services. When enough comparable pricing is available, it shows where your bill may sit against the market.

Paid products are optional. The preview does not guarantee savings, provider availability or a final price.

What information do I need to provide?

Start with your provider, monthly price before tax, internet speed, service area and what is included on the bill. Estimates are fine for the free preview.

For Action Plan or Pro Review, a recent bill or provider screenshot helps us confirm the details. If your bill also includes mobile, home phone or security, enter your best estimate of the internet and TV subtotal.

Can I start a new Free Savings Preview later?

Yes. Start a new preview whenever you want to check a different bill, provider, price or plan.

Your earlier preview remains available through the secure link in its PriceFox email.

How do I get back to a previous Savings Preview?

Use the secure link in the PriceFox email sent after that preview.

Starting a new preview does not delete your earlier result.

How is PriceFox different from a plan comparison site?

Most comparison sites begin with plans to browse. PriceFox begins with the bill you already have and checks how it compares.

Deal Map shows the evidence. Action Plan turns it into a written recommendation, while Pro Review adds guided help before you act.

Where does PriceFox work today?

PriceFox currently focuses on home internet in Ontario and Quebec, including some eligible internet and TV cases.

Provider coverage does not guarantee service at a specific address. Availability, footprint, plan details and current pricing still need to be checked for each case.

Deal Map
Is Deal Map free?

Your Free Savings Preview includes the first Deal Map comparison. Full Deal Map is an optional $9 one-time purchase that unlocks the broader PriceFox-supported comparison for that case.

If you buy Full Deal Map first, that $9 becomes one same-case credit toward Action Plan or the Pro Review deposit. The credit is single-use and does not transfer to another case.

What does Deal Map show?

Deal Map puts your current bill beside comparable pricing and organizes it by provider and speed tier. It is evidence, not a final recommendation.

In Ontario, the free preview benchmarks Bell, Rogers and TekSavvy. In Quebec, it uses Bell, Videotron and TekSavvy. Lower-cost Full Deal Map options remain locked without revealing the provider.

PriceFox does not treat a lower price as like-for-like when speed, TV content, delivery model or another important detail differs.

Is Deal Map a final provider offer?

No. Deal Map does not guarantee savings, eligibility, availability or a final provider price.

Promotion terms and plan details can change. Action Plan and Pro Review check relevant providers using your full address and explain what still needs confirmation.

Why choose a paid next step if the first Deal Map comparison is included?

Full Deal Map unlocks more comparison evidence for $9.

Action Plan adds a $39 written recommendation. Pro Review starts with a $20 deposit and adds help from a real person. Both include Full Deal Map for that case.

Action Plan, Pro Review and fees
What is the PriceFox Action Plan?

Action Plan is a one-time $39 written plan that includes Full Deal Map. We check relevant providers using your full address and may identify pricing that is not obvious on a provider’s main plan page.

You receive a recommended option, a backup when supported, where and how to try for the offer, what to ask, what to avoid and what to confirm.

Most Action Plans are delivered by the next business day after payment and documents are received. Complex cases can take longer.

Does Action Plan include follow-up support?

Action Plan is a fixed-scope written plan, not ongoing guided support. It does not have a success fee.

If you want a real person to help you compare options or prepare for a provider conversation, Pro Review is the guided option.

Does Action Plan guarantee savings or availability?

No. Action Plan does not guarantee savings, eligibility, provider availability or a final price.

We show a supported next step and what still needs confirmation.

How is Action Plan different from Pro Review?

Action Plan gives you the recommended option, backup, cautions and instructions in writing for $39.

Pro Review includes the same deeper provider work and adds guided help from a real person before you call, switch, cancel or respond to a retention offer.

What does Pro Review include?

Pro Review includes Full Deal Map, provider-by-provider checks using your full address and guidance tailored to the providers we find.

A real person helps you compare the options and understand the tradeoffs before you call, switch or accept a retention offer.

Can I upgrade from Action Plan to Pro Review?

Yes. You can start Pro Review for the same case when you want guided help.

Pro Review still starts with its normal $20 deposit. Action Plan and Pro Review do not credit toward each other, although both include Full Deal Map access for that case.

Is the $20 Pro Review deposit the full price?

No. Pro Review starts with a $20 deposit. If PriceFox verifies a lower-price outcome, the success fee is 30% of verified first-year savings, capped at $149, and the deposit is credited toward it.

No success fee applies when there is no verified lower-price outcome.

Is the $20 Pro Review deposit refundable?

The deposit is refundable if Pro Review does not find a meaningful savings option or useful plan-improvement option PriceFox would recommend.

If PriceFox completes a meaningful review and you choose not to act, choose a better-fit plan that does not lower your bill, or decide to wait, the deposit may be kept as the review fee.

When does the success fee apply?

Only after you complete a lower-price outcome and PriceFox verifies that your monthly bill decreased.

No success fee applies to an estimate, an uncompleted offer or a plan that costs the same or more.

Savings outcomes
What counts as proof of savings?

PriceFox may ask for a bill, order confirmation, provider screenshot, activation email or provider confirmation after you complete a lower-price outcome.

The proof is used to verify the new price and calculate any Pro Review success fee. An estimate or uncompleted offer is not treated as verified savings.

What happens if I choose a better plan that costs more?

If you choose a faster, more complete or better-fit plan that costs the same or more, no success fee applies because there are no verified dollar savings.

The Pro Review deposit may still cover the review work that was completed.

Does PriceFox tell me who to call or where to start?

Yes. Action Plan can identify the provider and location to try, along with the supported phone, chat, website or retail route when that route is appropriate for the offer.

Offer access can vary by location, timing and representative. PriceFox tells you what to ask and what to confirm before you order.

Do I have to switch or cancel?

No. You decide whether any option is right for you. PriceFox may recommend switching, waiting, monitoring, or reviewing a retention offer, depending on the supported evidence.

PriceFox does not place the order, create a provider account, cancel service or accept provider terms for you.

What if my provider makes a retention offer?

Compare the retention offer with the PriceFox-supported recommendation before accepting it.

Confirm the monthly price before tax, promotion term, speed or package, fees, contract requirements and when the new price starts. Pro Review can help you weigh those tradeoffs, but the final decision remains yours.

Privacy, independence and support
Is my uploaded bill stored securely?

Yes. Bills and screenshots are stored in private, access-controlled PriceFox storage. Document links are not public.

Authorized PriceFox team members use them to review and support your case. We do not sell your information or send your bill to providers so they can pitch plans.

Documents are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the case, billing, support or legal and accounting requirements.

Does PriceFox get paid by internet providers?

No. PriceFox is customer-paid and provider-independent. Providers do not pay PriceFox to promote plans, rank offers or steer you toward a specific company.

PriceFox works for Canadians, not corporations.

Does PriceFox use my address to check provider pricing?

For the free preview and first Deal Map comparison, we use your postal code or area to organize comparable pricing.

For Action Plan and Pro Review, we use your full address and plan details to check relevant provider pricing and availability tools. Results can change, so final provider confirmation may still be required.

We do not place orders, create provider accounts, use your provider login or share your bill with providers to pitch plans.
